We here at I Want More Comics have started carrying the new Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures game. It's made by Fantasy Flight Games. It is a miniature game of ship to ship combat for two players. This game is like playing the dogfighting scenes from the Star Wars movies. It's a constant ebb and flow between the two combatants. It moves very quickly and is easy to pick up and play. It's also expandable with more ships to pick up like the Millenium Falcon and the Slave 1 to add to the playing experience. Fantasy Flight Games will also be adding more ships on a regular basis to get your Star Wars nerd fully on. The really cool thing is that the play area starts as a 3' X 3' square but is expandable to however much flat surface you have to play on.
Well, I decided to bring home a copy of the Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures game because I liked the character based Star Wars miniature game from a few years ago. Now I'm just waiting for a friend that I can play with. I set everything up and played both sides by myself a few times as I was reading through the rules. I had the good me beat the bad me. Or was it the other way around? I really don't know. I'm concentraiting on my awesome "pew pew pew" patented Lucas sound effects so I can really feel like I'm there. Up in space, in the heat of the battle, with other pilots. Pilots that would be my friends playing X-Wing miniatures with me. I will have to put the nerd call out to others at I Want More Comics that might want to make their own "pew pew pew" lazer noises with me.
